5th place at Westerns! way to go Smash!

New States added to Follett Map!

Missouri

Ashley's national meet was in Iowa this year and so we decided to make the most of it and see some local church history sites! Our trip started with a quick stay in Wichita, Kansas and then our first stop was in Independence, Missouri!

Temple plot laid by Joseph Smith in 1831, the kids are standing on each cornerstone with Lily in the middle! The Community of Christ temple (RLDS) is seen in the background, the kids called it the "tower of doom," "great and spacious building," and the "evil temple"...

Independence Visitor Center- learned lots about the early saints and their short stay in Missouri!

Nick sleeping during Sister Missionary's tour....

Liberty Jail

Wonderful couple missionaries took us on a tour of an exact replica of Liberty jail where Joseph and other leaders of the church were wrongfully imprisoned. Our testimonies strengthened as we learned in more detail of the horrible conditions that Joseph had to endure!

Adam-ondi-Ahman

Preacher's Rock- Joseph Smith stood on this rock and preached to the saints

What's a family trip without a little bit of an attitude!

My favorite part, unbelievable how large the valley is and incredible to be in a spot where Adam once stood with his posterity and blessed them and where one day Christ will stand and bless those who are righteous. It was a very sacred and beautiful place!

Des Moines, Iowa

in honor of our dad...Principal Ball Park where the Iowa Cubs play!

Downtown Des Moines

the State captiol was beautiful!

Iowa War Memorial

Nick rolled down the hill like a log and lost his cell phone! actually ashley picked it up and let him think he lost it!
