Jackson's Blog-Raptors Roar
Jackson had a great season, loved playing catcher and was an RBI machine! For all of the long hours of practice and a 9 game season, all the video we could muster is this lousy 50 second segment. Check it out! It is our version of "prison cam" from the other side of the chain link fence. GO RAPTORS!

Nick's Blog-The Curse lives on!
Nick survived another season with the Red Sox, who may have been more competitive if they were in the sunny hills assisted living league for women over 80 (No disrespect to any of our readers over 80). This years team highlights included a 15-0 loss to the Dodgers and a 22-3 loss to the Diamondbacks (that game was such a beating that not every player on his team got an at bat). Nick had as much fun as he possibly could (like telling jokes at a funeral) and really played good despite his teams futility. Click on this picture for a closer look at the scoreboard....Sunny hills 11 Red Sox 0.....

Kelsi's Symphony
Kelsi conducted the Marcus High School Orchestra tonight. It was a song she arranged herself in which she entitled, "Arrival." It was awesome, she was really nervous but did a great job and loved being up there! She definitely has Arrived! The whole piece was not captured on video because our tape ended, (mom is still working on being prepared for events like this!) Of course you can hear the family cheering as she walked on and if you listen carefully you can hear lily in the background! We are very proud of you kelsi!

Emma's Frogs
Our favorite part about Spring in Texas is the frogs! Each May when the sun goes down, the weather is just right and the moon is full, our backyard turns into a symphony of croaking. Literally hundreds of frogs all going at the same time is quite an experience. Of course, Emma loves to capture them and give them names. Pictured here is Thelma (on the left) and Louise (with throat engorged).

Mother's Day
what could be sweeter than to wake up to a little 6 year old with no teeth smiling and saying, "happy mother's day, mommy, i made you breakfast!" what could be sweeter than a nine year old who wrote a poem about a mom who can do anything from making cookies to finding the wii remote! what could be sweeter than to help a 13 year old realize he can't do it alone, and no matter how much independence he desires, life is so much easier with mom's help. what could be sweeter than a 15 year old who shows respect and gratitude for her mom and strives to make good choices in her life. what can be sweeter than to watch a 17 year old turn into a fine young woman, who loves the lord and is about to reap the rewards for working hard. oh what could be sweeter than lily, a little one year old to love and snuggle with!
La Dulce Vita! (Italian for "the Sweet Life")
what could be sweeter than to reflect on what a wonderful mother i had who always put her children first. what could be sweeter then to think of my grandmothers, mother-in-law, aunts and of course my sisters and sister-in-laws who all are such great examples to me of "mothers who know." mothers who know this is our greatest work, and our greatest joy! Even though much of it involves tears, stinky socks, stress, a new language to learn (GGPOS-"gotta go parent over shoulder") worry, scheduling, attitudes, frustration, feeling clueless, wrestling matches, a constant reviewing of standards, disappointments, no sleep, messy rooms, and tummies that are never full! like mother Eve without knowing all the bad we would not know just how sweet it is to be a mom!
