Family Night

The Entry into Jersusalem GIOTTO (1266-1337) Arena Chapel, Padua

kelsi we sure miss you at family night, we started a new set of lessons and did not want you to feel left out, we are studing the last week of Christ's mortal ministry (we are studying this in our relief society gospel study class so i thought we might as well take advantage of it for family night) so here is the first lesson so you don't feel left out!

Christ's takes His final journey into Jerusalem. He sends two of his apostles out to obtain a colt for Him that He might ride into the city, as was custom for ancient kings, of course Christ is the "King of Kings" The apostles did, and things occurred just as the Savior said they would. They found a colt, untied him and when the owners asked why they were taking the colt, the apostles simply said the Lord had need of it and they allowed them to take the colt. The apostles placed their robes upon the colt and as Jesus rode into the city he paused at the top of the Mount of Olives, and wept over the city because he knew that soon the city would be destroyed including the great temple. When Jesus reached the gates of the city He was met by a great mulitude of His disciples. "And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest." (Luke 19:36-38)
