Faith in God Requirements
One of the requirements for the Faith in God was to teach a Family Home Evening about the 1st Vision. Jackson decided to write a short play(another requirement) depicting Joseph Smith which quickly turned into a FOLLETTCREW PRODUCTION with Jackson directing. Emma helped with costumes, and completely destroyed her attic where all the dress up clothes are kept. Nicholas willingly said he would be Joseph until he found out that Jackson wanted him to go out into the backyard dressed in a puffy pirate shirt! Jackson eventually talked him into it! Kelsi videotaped, Lily and Emma had supporting roles and since Ashley was stuck at gymnastics for the making of the movie, she made the popcorn for our family viewing. Jackson is lucky to have such talented siblings it turned out cute, but nick would die if he knew i put this on the blog so don't tell. Let's just call it karma, mom has to put up with teenage attitudes, teenagers have to put up embarressing things put on the blog from mom!

A Ladybug, a frog, a princess and a Broken nose
Tube Wars (tubes being pulled behind a boat) are a big deal in our family, who can knock the other one off the tube is King or Queen of the tubes! Well Nick took it to another level after jumping from his tube on to Ashley's and trying to knock her off. Both were thrown from the tube and Ashley's face smacked the back of Nick's head, she came up out of the water with blood gushing out and it was obvious she broke her nose. The swelling went down in a couple of hours and she looked alot better. this is taken the day after, it does not look too bad her eyes just look really far apart and you can see the beginning of black eyes. She healed really quick but xrays did confirm broken in two places! She was in alot of pain as you can imagine and I worry about the pain that she is going to unleash on Nick when she is fully recovered! My bets are on ashley all the way!
Refinishing Grandma Carolyn's Dining Room Table!
Then came New Mexico which had no Dining Room and the beautiful table became the kitchen table of six hungry, messy children and after four moves, three different cushion styles the table quickly became a source of frustration for mom who could not keep it looking nice. It was a table that no matter how much you wiped it off your arms would still stick to the table. So after much pleading I finally convinced Kenny we could refinish it. So he decided to take a week of work thinking we could get it done in that week, but did not figure that his "Honey Do List" would become very long after I found out he was going to take a week off!
We all worked together, kids helped take cushions off, all helped sand the table and chairs which took several days, we painted it first with primer and then with black paint. It seemed to be a never ending project but finally we finished! and after two weeks without a Kitchen table I have one that looks brand new! at least for me!
